Lightwave Project
This is my first attempt at organic modeling in Lightwave. I watched a tutorial on the Lightwave site. It had no sound or explanations, so was a little hard to follow, but the craftsmanship was so good that I decided to try it. I watched the video (all 6 parts) a couple of times. The tutorial comes with downloadable files, but I chose to start from scratch. My main difficulty was that metaforming the square that I started with didn't leave me enough facets to work with (I needed an extra ring of polygons in the z and y axis), so I cut the mataformed square and added the extra polygons with the extend tool (e), then welded (Command -W) the points back together.

Other than that one instance, the only tools I used were the push /pull tool (Command -T), the Supershift (Command -S) and the Spin Quads (Command - K) tools. It took me three days to get this far (Taron could do this in 2 minutes), but, for my first attempt, I'm fairly pleased. Now I have to make the eyes and the mouth, texture this dude and set the morphs and animate him. Don't hold your breath.

Total Polygons = 550
